Ulliman Schutte Showcase

I've been back in classes at UC for almost a week now and I've been reflecting on my summer internship at Ulliman Schutte. At Ulliman Schutte, I was given the opportunity to work in the marketing department as the Marketing and Proposals intern, doing everything from writing and editing proposals and content, creating graphics, and helping produce content for recruitment and social media.

I met with my advisor, Brian Fanelli, every couple of weeks to discuss how my internship was going, as how to move forward with the experiences and skills I was learning at US. With these meetings, I was able to keep my eyes open for new learning opportunities, such as other courses at UC I'd want to take, as well as things I could do in the present to improve my overall internship experience.

At US, I was able to explore my interest in design, as well as exercise my writing skills. I loved getting to work in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, as those are widely used in the content creating industry. I hope to explore and use these programs more and hopefully get certifications in them, as I have a fair understanding of how to use each program.

From this internship, I was able to experience a full-time, professional environment firsthand. I was able to explore marketing and learn about wastewater construction, which was something I never saw myself getting into, but I'm glad I was able to broaden my perspective and learn about a new industry.
